RESUMO

This work analyses and discusses the pile caps behavior for concrete precast structures on two piles submitted to the action of centered force. As column-foundation connection, rough interface foundation socket was used. The strut-and-tie model is used to shape the effort transmission from the column to the pile-caps, confirmed by the experimental analyses. This investigation observed the cooperation of the column embendding for the pile caps basis design and the differences in the formation of regions and trajectories of stress. In the procedure, there were three 1:2 scale pile caps, in three different heights of pedestal walls. For the instrumentalization were used strain gages positioned on the principal stress reinforcement, on the pile caps and on the principal reinforcement column. LVDTs were ositioned on the surface of the pile caps, also. For the models design were followed the indications from MELO (2004) as well as the indications from the rules NBR 6118 (2003) and NBR 9062 (1985). The obtained results from the experimental analyses show that it is not necessary to consider the 2/3 embendding length height of the pile caps for the friction forces transference, in case of load centered action, indicated by MELO (2004). As a conclusion, it is possible to develop strut-and-tie models appropriated to two pile caps.
