RESUMO

This work presents a detailed numeric simulation of an horizontal tubular bubble absorber with evaporative cooling, a model that inc1udes the thermodynamic phenomena of heat and mass transfer. This heat exchanger is part of an ammonia-water absorption refrigeration system for the production of ice in scales. The transport phenomena involved were described by the equations of mass, energy and chemical species conservation, applied to a two-phase system, using the concept of nonequillibrium stage. The external process of evaporative cooling was solved using the Merkel simplifications, that facilitated the mathematical solution. The model was established for steady state operation. The results obtained show the possibility of the use of evaporative absorbers in ammonia-water absorption refrigeration system of any capacity. The developed model may be used for the optimum project of evaporative absorbers for absorption systems with different capacities and conditions of operation
