RESUMO

In this work we present an introduction to metabolic networks of organisms, its main biological concepts, different data structures that can be used to model these networks and a formal definition of three of the main problems related to nutrient analysis. Finally, this work presents a method based on the topology of the network to enumerate all the precursor sets of nutrients that are enough to synthetize some compounds defined as the targets of the network.
