Analise das imagens geocientificas em livros didaticos de ciencias

RESUMO
The theme of this work is the images related to geoscience inside the science textbook for 11 years old pupils. The main purposes were: (1) to show the kinds of geosciences images and to measure them; (2) to read" the selected images in order to analyze according to our own conceptions/perceptions made clear features of their communication power; (3) to c1assify the geoscience images according to didactical functions purposed by others authors; (4) to discuss possible relations between geosciences images and texts in order to evaluate the communication power of that relationship. The study revealed a great amount of images mainly photos and drawings. It makes possible to acquaint to these images and texts and that practice gives rise a "free" description/interpretation of them and it becomes possible to reach the next purposes. In so far as the third objective, we obtain mainly photos called as motivating as well as generically called illustrative. In other way the drawings seek to organize and to sum up in a certain space the knowledge about a process or an event in order to support a whole understanding. The analysis of the geoscience images and text shows among others interrelations between images and legend, images and kinds oftexts and images and geoscience contents
