RESUMO

The purpose of this study is to analyze the utilization influency of the groupware tecnology to knowledge management, and the factors affecting the creation and share of knowledge within a electric company, named CHESF. The study observed the groupware technology tools imlemented into the company, such as INTRANET, corporative network and the Lotus Notes as the basis for Knowledge Management. The research was conducted using the qualitative approach and the case study, using the main definitions and debates in the relationship of groupware technology and knowledge management presented by the literature to identify benefits and barriers in the use of such technology. The results suggest that the groupware technology implemented into the organization has facilitate the operational work and the informational level, trhough a informational management, but it isnât used systematically to share the organizatonal knowledge
