RESUMO

The history of furniture registers the history of mans daily life, it is even correct to say that furniture is the material link between mankind and their houses, body and architecture. However, one of the greatest chair design difficulties is originated from the fact that the act of seating is studied as a static activity rather than a dynamic one. Within all this in mind, this research has been developed to settle and define the loads that occur in a chair using ergonomics concepts believing that this will result in a well designed furniture.
