RESUMO

Two experiments were conducted in the dependencies of the EV-UFMG with the purpose of determining the apparent(CBap) and true (CBv) bioavailability coefficients of each of the aminoacids and of the sum of the aminoacids of 5 diets and 16 feeds utilized in the formulation of diets for parrots and comparing them to the apparent (CDap) and true (CDv) digestibility coefficients of CP and CP corrected by uric acid. 46 blue fronted parrots were utilized in experimental design in randomized blocks, with three experimental periods, each period constituted a block in a total of 6 replicates per feed. The 5 diets and sunflower seed were compared one with the other. In the other feeds were calculated their contents in apparent and true bioavailable aminoacids. All the analyses were performed in the Animal Science of the DZO-UFLA and the means, compared by Scott-Knott. All the coefficients were determined and are reported in tables in the body of the work. The conclusions of the work were: the best methodology to evaluate protein digestibility was the measurement of Cbap of aminoacids from the HPLC analyses; the CDap and CDv of CP corrected by uric acid do not replace the CBap and CBv of the sum of aminoacids in adult blue fronted parrots; fasting parrots excrete more aminoacids than fed parrots; one should utilize Cbap to the detriment of the CBvs of the feeds studied for adult parrots; the extrusion process improved bioavailability of the aminoacids of the feeds tested for parrots; the sunflower seed proteins posses high digestibility for parrots in maintenance; the dog diets of the Economic line present better coefficients than those of the Superpremium line for adults parrots; one should not extrapolate the CBap and CBv obtained in rooters, even cecectomized ones to parrots; and interactions among nutrients of different feedstuffs of the diet associated with the use of Mattersonâs methodology (1965) making the extrapolation of the data obtained for other levels of inclusion of the feed difficult.
