RESUMO

The competition is among the biggest challenges in the organizations and their managers. Changes in methods, systems, processes and hence products and services are current events. In this context innovation has a determinant role, and knowing the factors that foster the development of organizational environments geared to innovation, it has become essential. In the area of health, or more specifically in hospital organizations that scenario is no different, innovation is present in the scientific and technological development. These organizations are at an emerging pace of professionalization of their structures, as well as investing in information systems in order to encourage changes in their operational processes and as well in their management. The aim of this research was to examine whether the environment of a hospital organization that is a national reference in adoption of information systems is seen as conducive to the development of innovations. For this, we used the information system adopted by the hospital organization that is considered an impacted innovation. A total of 129 users were surveyed using certain tools in this system, classified as social subjects of this research. They answered a questionnaire adapted from the model developed by the Minnesota Innovation Research Program (MIRP) based on the methodology Minnesota Innovation Survey (MIS), which involves internal and external features and also results in the organization. In this aspect, we studied 21 dimensions comprising 45 questions with answer options in the Likert scale of five points. This study is characterized as descriptive and with the quantitative method and the techniques used are configured in three steps: frequency analysis, exploratory factor map and structural equation modeling. To analyze the reliability index of the data we used the Cronbach alpha. It was identified that the 21 dimensions assessed, 17 were perceived by employees of the organization studied as favorable to innovation. The dimensions that characterize the environment for innovation in the organization are classified into two groups: the first consists of the problems identified (D23), procedures for resolving conflicts (D25) and duration of the relationship (D29) and is focused on the aspect of "control of problems/conflicts." The second group includes the standardization of procedures (D4), leadership of team innovation (D7), freedom to express doubts (D8) and encouraged learning (D9), dimensions that are directed to the issue of "leadership." It could also be shown that the dimensions in the organization have perceived adherence to the model proposed by MIRP
