This work analyzes the Álvaro Lins criticism, who if inserts in an historical moment important of the literature in Brazil; of a side, a cientifical criticism become still attached to the ideological values defended by José Veríssimo, of another one, critical to be born form the courses of Letters of the universities just-established in the country, endowed with an academic positioning.The present research looks for to demonstrate as Alvaro Lins develops its criticism proper way of in the baseboards of periodicals to melt literature with other areas of the knowledge, as sociology, the philosophy, the politics and the religion, searching, basically, to promote the formation of the reader.
