RESUMO

Adaptive antennas is a radiating system that allows a control of the format and the direction of radiation diagram. With this control, they are capable to guide the main lobe of the radiation diagram to the desired signal and to reduce, simultaneously, the influence of the interferences signals. These systems have an accented demand in the technologies 3G and 4G of cellular mobile system. It makes possible the increase in the capacity of canal of the system. This work presents a theoretical study of this system and the simulations in a computer based on proposals theories. The study is based on the attainment of the signal from a plane wave that reaches a linear array of radiating elements. In this array, processing parameters are introduced, known as weights, that allow to adjust the phase and the amplitude of the transmitted/received signal. The adjustments are made by a digital signal processor that, through special algorithms, update the weights of the array as a function of the directions of the desired signal and the suppression at interferences. On the calculations and the simulations the algorithms and mathematical functions are used to describe the control of the diagram radiation gotten on the diagrams.
