RESUMO
In a study case within a group of "rural" women from Venda Nova do Imigrante, Espírito Santo state, Brazil, on attempt to analyse the transformations of a historical female subordination situation, from the approach of the agritourism. The italian ethnic identity and the catholic religiosity stood out as relevant social dimensions for comprehension of the researched group s social relations. No denying the occurrence of significant changes in the gender relations, closely related to the agritourism social practices, on demonstrate the persistence and the reproduction of gender inequalities due to the male domination
