RESUMO

This paper is the result of the use of experimental activities, in which miniature rockets were built from plastic PET1 bottles, in order to promote significant learning of Newton‟s laws of motion in High School. We worked with two distinct groups of students, both in their 1st (first) year of High School: the first , the experimental group, was submitted to lessons prepared based on the ausbelian theory of meaningful learning, where they built and launched the miniature rockets, while the second, the group of control, such activities were not present. The comparative analysis of the results obtained from the research, allows us to affirm that the use of experimental activities associated with a differentiated methodology characterizes a strategy in promoting significant learning. As a result of this research paper, we built a support material for teachers, with all necessary information to build and use the prototype rockets that can be built with a very low cost material as well as all plan lessons necessary to the application of the proposal.
