RESUMO

Pythagorean Question is the expression of all the difficulties and challenges that involve the systematic study, critical and scientific point of view of historical and philosophical about Pythagoras of Samos. Pythagorean Question covers two main themes: the historical question, which refers to the possibility of preparing a biography of Pythagoras, and the philosophical question, that is the question how the formation was philosophical Pythagoras. Pythagorean Question will be a debate on the question of sources for the study of Pythagoreanism. Our research continues with the story and the concept of psyché from Homer to Pythagoras, in order to have an understanding of the historical evolution of this concept, which explains how psyché developed a design for the mythical-poetic become critical-rational. Likewise, we face the history and concept of metempsychosis, ie the theory of the transmigration of the soul. The Phaedo is perhaps the most important testimony of the theory of Pythagorean metempsychosis. The relevance of this dialogue to the tradition Platonic-philosophy is deeply connected with the resumption of the Pythagorean theories of the psyché and the metempsychosis pointing to two philosophical ways: the ethics as expression of Pythagorean conduct, and the epistemology as another vertex of the Pythagorean intellectual endeavor.
