A resiliência em mulheres de um bairro popular: recursos pessoais e contextuais

RESUMO

This is a qualitative and exploratory study that aims to characterize the personal and contextual resources used by women considered resilients faced with: abandonment, violence to herself and to their sons, unemployment and diseases, for women considered resilients because they express the ability to overcome in a socially positive way the adversities. The study tried to identify how these women, when children and adolescents, perceived and explored their environment about its functioning and the available oportunities, and what personal and contextual resources they used. The five women were participants selected in a group named Conversa de Família, conducted in a Educative Center in Salvador, Bahia. It was realized a semi structured interview about the life story and a sociometric network. The analisys was anchored in an ecological perspective of the human development, that consider the person in context and developmental processes in time (Bronfenbrenner) and in a psicodramatic approach (Moreno). A special attention was dispensed to the presence of a figure of reference; that aspect justified the appeal to the attached theory (Bowlby). Through a crossing of the stories, common situations were perceived to all the participants. The results of the study showed a resilience of survival based in their own performance, where the difficults were transformed in means to their sucess like person. It showed the presence of figures, real or imaginaries, and the importance of had been a relacional network, inside and/or out of the family, and of had been possible to transit in this network, so that these forms of relationship will serve as basis for future relatioships. Each one of the women interwied constructed their own model of mother, detaching and/or diferentiating themselves, in some measure, of the past, keeping themselves attached although remeaning painful and hard experiences. Some commom traits standed out: confidence in herselves and in their capacity of find viable ways, persistence, good images of herselves, dont have resentment and keep the humor. The early and intensively exercised ways of share, gave not only the basis, but also the power and the will with they walked ahead later, in other moments of their lives. In this way, the internal/external relation about the capacity of resilience denotes to be only one thing: it is the effort and the suffering that makes them able to support the effort and the suffering. In part because of the situations lived in the childhood, in part because of the points above presented, they are able to update social support networks, of several kinds, duration, intensity, etc. The supportive networks are presents in all stories, making possible the survival of the origin family, after her own and, when adults, they itself been the networks to their sons, grandchildren, godsons, neighboors.
