RESUMO

This research objectified to verify as the Visual Artss teaching happens in the school pedagogic spaces, of medium level, in São Gabriel, RS. The methodology maid based on a qualitative approach, of descriptive stamp; subsidized by semi-structured interviews, open questionnaires and documental analysis. The work comes in three parts: Investigator Context, Theoretical Reference and Presentation and Analysis of the Collected Information - sub-divided in six chapters. The interpretative analysis of the data went back to the categories: Teaching of the Visual Arts and Pedagogic Space for that teachingand it happened in four moments: analysis of the information for contained subjects, analysis of the information contained by segments, relationship establishment between the manifestations of the teachers and its students, and interweaving of those results with the selected authors theories. Participated of this investigation five teachers, five directors and twelve students, everybody of the Medium Teaching, in five schools of the referred city. After the conclusion of research it was verified that the process of Visual Arts teaching learning in the Medium Teaching in São Gabriel should be rethought, tends in view the art-educators continued formation, structuring of the curricula of Art, and cultural space contextualize in subject at work.
