A presença dos americanismos léxicos no ensino de E/LE: nos livros didáticos e na sala de aula

RESUMO

This research developed under the qualitative approach aims to investigate how the specific lexical units of American Spanish are introduced in the school language text books of the Spanish as a foreign language and in which way the lexical units are brought to the class room in the teaching-learning process of the foreign language. The research was developed in the two ways. In the first, three text books were selected, after collecting and examining the principal text books of the Spanish as a foreign language that are being used in the Federative District of Brasilia, which are also designated to form the corpus for the analysis. It was found out that the specific lexical units of American Spanish are widely appeared in these books from the beginning to the end and according to the topics. It could also be seen that the information contained in these text books indicates the lexical units, whose vocabulary is used in all American Spanish generally, omitting the true regional variation, and in which it was optional, for the authors of these books, to use or not more explicitly the origin of the vocabulary. On the top of that, the analyzed text books have few activities for the teaching and learning of the vocabulary. In the second, the collected data through the observation, questionnaire and interview to the language teachers showed that they believe the importance of the contents for the teaching and learning process of the language to be taught, although the collected data confirm that the topics are not considered by them on the planning for the class or in the selection or production of complemented materials to be used. They also confirm that the teaching of the contents in terms of what they are and when they should be taught are depending on moments of the use of the text books. The interviewees also consider that the specific lexical units of American Spanish is a complicated theme to be used in the class room, because there are not sufficient or adequate materials for the teaching and consulting or checking, which makes knowledge of the topics to be taught and consulted restricted.
