A natureza tricrítica da fase nemática

RESUMO

The phenomenona of critical phases are very important topic of conceptual point of view, mainly by breaking paradigms of modern theories of critical phenomena. These phenomena can be suggested by mechanisms of spontaneous breaking of continumm symmetry - well established model in particle physics - where there is the appearance of Nambu-Goldstone Bosons leads to fluctuations whose correlations become infinite in the full length of broken symmetry phase and not only in the vicinity of a critical point as the traditionally theory predicts. Moreover, the Goldstone functional generator is purely Gaussian promoting a critical exponent of the order parameter β = 0.25 when we take the appropriate physical dimensionality d = 3. With these concepts, we intend to explain the critical universal global nematic phase behavior that has been already suggested in the literature but has not had a satisfactory response.
