RESUMO

This dissertation is devoted to the creation of a movie script based on Guimarães Rosa’s short story, “Os Cimos” (in English: “Treetops”), as well as to the investigation of the author/writer’s creative processes. In the first part, there is the outline of the path, movements that arouse the poetic adventure of approaching-distancing with Rosa’s text. In the second part, of “Campo Geral” and its immeasurable childhood aspects, to the Boy from “Os Cimos” and the distance from his Mother. In the Boy’s journey, life and death situations faced in anguish and the help from a beloved and mutilated object. Here is the presentation of the story, interpolated by the reader’s impressions and some elements of the Winnicottian theory of transitional phenomena. The reading and rereading of the story lead the author to her own childhood memories, and the memory takes over, leading creation. Hence the writing of a short story unveiled after Rosa’s short story: the story of the Girl, which delicately encounters the one of the Boy, happening alongside each other. In the third part, the presentation of the movie script, written from the two short stories, the two stories, in environments that were separated by time and distance, although assembled in their creation experience and their autonomy achievement.
