RESUMO

What is the vision from manufacturers and builders side, as for the elevators integration issues? How is the users behavior facing the product and its limitations? Elevators are complex mechanics assemblies, composed by a huge number of parts, which in general are designed in generic dimensions. Such statement is not properly an innovation, not even the characteristic difficulties that involve the productive process of this vehicle of vertical transportation. However, when we analyzed the elevator under other perspective, we came across two basic problems and relatively specific: The integration with the architecture and the interface with the user. The research issue refers to the way that the elevator companies and builders site treat the product interface of different concepts, in the creation phase and in the production, and what is the user behavior, considering the market and direct product integration. Starting from this point, it appears the need of identifying the practices and manufacturerspostures, builders, users and architects regarding the integration issue. Also important is the need of verifying the ethical and social actions performed by researched companies, in the project requirements and in the interface with the user. As theoretical base, a study of the elevator was accomplished, showing its development in a basic way, until the state of art in world level. The chosen method was the descriptive study, with a questionnaire application composed by questions focused in proposed objectives, applied in three manufacturing companies of elevators, five building companies and two architecture / design offices and 82 users. As initial consideration of this study, it was verified that the companies and researched offices have difficulties in generating products conceptually different for subsequent integration, in general they dont act in an active way, because they expect to be sure about market tendencies before taking any action. There is a great potential of reduction in the interrelation problems that is obstructed by technical feuds or pure incorrect segmentation interpretation or also limited knowledge of users attitude. And the users have little knowledge and are still less active in product improvement issues.
