RESUMO
This work discusses the importance of the thermal performance evaluation in low-income housing (HIS), through representative parameters of global thermal quality in buildings. It has the objective to identify evaluation parameters that also consider the environment variables influence on the thermal performance of houses. The case study was conducted in four houses in the city of Londrina. Based on the same constructive typology, distinct external environments were selected: topography, geographic orientation, shading and a pilot case as reference. We measured the air temperature, the air relative humidity and globe temperature as data collection, during the summer and winter periods to understand the housing thermal conditions. We studied cases with different scenarios through the EnergyPlus program, which generated hourly internal data for the whole year. We conducted surveys with inhabitants in order to know their preferences and expectations in relation to their housing comfort conditions. The data collection provided us with a HIS evaluation according to the following standards and methodologies: NBR 15220 (2005), PNBR02.136.01.001 (2004), Givoni?s Bioclimatic Zone (1992), Discomfort Hours by Barbosa (1997) and ASHRAE:55 (2004), and we analyzed which methodology presents parameters that reflect the conditions found in the measurements in loco. This paper has generated the following results: a) during evaluations, the prescriptive methods pointed to identical thermal conditions in the four case studies; b) the performance and comfort methods pointed to the "orientation" case as being the most uncomfortable in both summer and winter period, unlike the "shading" case. In conclusion, the parameters used by performance methods provide a better representation of the building thermal conditions, using limits to air temperature, relative humidty, air velocity and radiant temperature.
