RESUMO

This paper aims to analyze the effects caused by implantation of Hydroelectric Power Plant of Furnas (MG), be they territorial, when the process of de/re/ territorialization, whether tourist, when the formation of the artificial lake created by damming the waters. The work was divided into four sections defined as follows: the first, called FURNAS, brings the contextualization of the object of a study was written based on research sources Furnas Company S/A, responsible for building and operating the plant. In the second, entitled TERRITORIAL REPERCUSSIONS, the conceptual discussion running through the definitions of territory and its consequences, for such a review was carried out taking into account the theoretical contribution of various scholars. The section TOURISM REPERCUSSIONS, the third of this work, brings the concept of tourism and its relationships with water resources and territory, the same way as in section two, here was also carried out a bibliographic review of the concepts discussed, and finally the section four, we present case studies of three municipalities bordering the lake, those based on documentary research and interviews
