A formação de conceitos elementares do conteúdo do tratamento de informação com auxilio de material concreto: uma intervenção de ensino

RESUMO

The aim motivating this dissertation was to investigate the process of formation for elementary knowledge concepts of statistics in pupils of 5 series of Ensino Fundamental, by means of an intervention of education with use of manipulative material, in order to answer the following question of research: Which the contributions, of the point of view of the formation of elementary concepts of the statistics, that the use of manipulative material, inside of teaching sequence, brings for pupils of 5 series of Ensino Fundamental . To this end, an interventionist research approach was adopted in a study, composed for two groups of study: the Experimental Group (GE) and the Group of Control (GC), both formed by pupils of 5 series of Ensino Fundamental in a public school of São José dos Campos, São Paulo. The work was divided in two parts. The first one was organized with the application of disgnostic instruments (pré and pós-tests). Second, for the application of an the teaching intervention with use of manipulative material, to the experimental group. The results gotten in each one of these parts, were analyzed having as base five units of study, that they enclosed: the reading and prompt interpretation of the data, the reading and global interpretation of the data, constructions of graphs and tables, the concept and calculation of the mode, medium and of the arithmetic mean and the inferences and extrapolações from these readings. The results of this research indicate that the use of the manipulative material in such a way made possible the necessary abstractions to the attainment of the knowledge, as the relations between the elements of the studied concepts that allow the magnifying of the conceptual field that contains elements of the Treatment of the Information
