RESUMO

In this study the expression field is related to the rural communities process of manifestation through the grass root movements in Brazil, in which during the past three decades has been given visibility towards the historical lack of governmental policies to its demands. In this idiosyncratic field we find the roots from the sertão inside the project of a family agricultural school, built through the organizational process of its peasant people. The Escola Família Agrícola do Sertão (EFASE) is 400 km away from Salvador and is located at Monte Santo municipality, working with 186 students from all region. The EFASE became a social educational reference in the region where about 89 communities are involved in its project. To accomplish this history, the first part of this thesis brings the discussion of the rural brazilian educational history in its relation between estate and society. The estate silence or adjustment in its educational policies which touched the rural context, and the resistance, search or adaptation from civil society in its building policies process which affected the rural. In here already pointing out to the first agricultural families schools in Brazil during the 60s. The second part of the thesis discuss the grass roots movements in its theoric perspective and the political expression of the peasants people, which during the 90s were responsible for the articulation process: Por uma Educação do Campo. The third part of this thesis, reaches the hinterlands of Bahia, sertão. Canudos comes as a reference to present the sertãos social environmental context and, in its similar way, the Comunidades de Fundo de Pasto, comes as the representation of this life and history heritage through the twenty century. The phenomenology option comes as a perspective in search of sertão peoples perception and it will solidify the fourth party of the thesis. Throughout phenomenology, the research reaches its habitat through peoples version of the place they live and build each day. Thus, we present the history of agricultural families schools in Bahia, and the Escola Família Agrícola do Sertão, as the locus where these discussions find life.
