RESUMO
The transition from the XIX to the XX century was marked by the scientific - technological revolution in the Western world. This was responsible for a violent and troubled process of modernization in the peripheral countries, inspired by the positivist idea of progress, which had in the construction of the Nation - States one of its most important achievements. Favouring that change, a notable intellectual utilitarianism appeared in Brazil; it only accepted those forms of creativity bearing elements able to produce social changes. Nowadays, in the transition from the XX to the XXI century, the utopia of making Nation - States does no longer feed art. And literature, now turned toward other values, seems to have lost its power to create projects by itself, having become the expression of a non-illusioned world. However, in a process of displacement and shifting out of centre, by means of a hybrid discourse, half-way between music and writing, there appears the privileged space for the clamour of the excluded, with a critical and propositional attitude, disclosing a new discoursive place for reflection and for the conveyance of truth.
