RESUMO

This research considered the contribution of Revista Diálogo magazine, press media, edited and published by Grupo Paulinas, for the formation of the Religious Teaching teacher-reader, spanning the years from 1995 to 2005. These teachers used this building instrument, for the understanding of the religious phenomenon and its teaching. The aim was to identify the teachers perceptions about Religious Teaching from the Revista Diálogo perspectives, through the theoretical reader-receivers focus. The importance of this theme (matter, subject) is due to the adoption of Religious Teaching as a field of knowledge (1998) preceded by the review of the article 33, of the Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação Nacional (1997), which reinforced Religious Teaching as a curricular subject, as well as a field of knowledge, to be taught in Public Schools of Fundamental Teaching. Taken into account was the study object and the content to be analyzed, methodically conducted through qualitative research, with the phenomenal approach, its modality being the Content Analysis. In addition, there was theoretical grounding laid by Figueiredo, Junqueira, Garcia, Masetto, Nóvoa and Zabalza. Providing the basis for the reception theory, with emphasis on the teacher-reader and the role of the language in the message conveyed by Revista Diálogo, were interviews with: Bordenave, Chalhub, Chartier, Martin-Barbero, Mattelart, Melo, Sousa, and others. One of the relevant findings through the research was learning how teacher-reader-receivers of the Magazine used it for continuing professional formation. It was shown that Diálogo helps in the deepening and updating process about the Religious phenomenon, thus, orienting and widening the readers knowledge. Furthermore, it used and supported the process of teacher-readers reflections, debate as a basis for this field of knowledge. Therefore, under the viewpoint of the teacher-reader, the Revista Diálogo magazine contributed to the continued formation of the Religious Teaching teacher. This teacher-reader now finds himself, amidst the dynamical process in the search for his permanent and continued professional formation. This current reflection made it possible to realize that 100% of the people interviewed, pointed out the need for urgent and continued formation. This assures further action, driven by the ultimate values aimed at by the Religious Teaching, such as: The manifestation of the transcendental in schools. Teachers play a decisive role in this process: The how to do is intimately linked to the educators formation and in his beliefs. Religious Teaching finds room for leading the student through reflections about the meaning of life and to get responsibly committed with the transformation of reality according to religious values, through free and coherent choices
