RESUMO

The goal of this work was to verify the relation between the constitution of child oral narrative, with articulated beginning, middle and end, and the construction of causal and spatial notions. The sample was constituted by 74 people between the ages of 4 and 8, enrolled in kindergarten and in the beginning of elementary school of PRODECAD. Program for Children and Teenager support of Unicamp. In order to verify the narrative elaboration level, two temporal sequences were applied: one to be freely elaborated by the person, and another to be presented incoherently by the researcher. Three piagetian forms were used to identify the level of operation concerning space, time and causality: "Perspectives Relationship", "The age of Three" and Mediate Transmission and Transitivity, respectively. Criteria were elaborated to analyze both the narrative production and the spatial temporal notions, as well as the causal bonds implicit in the narrative. A statistical analysis of the results showed a meaningful relation between the narrative constitution and the spatial temporal and causal notions, implicit both in the temporal sequence and in the piagetian proofs. This show that high rates of the refereed notions correspond to a well elaborated narrative and low levels show only a description of facts and characters.
