RESUMO
This paper relates to female adultery in the state of Para1"bain the 1920s and 1930s during the 20th Century according to intriguing discussions which reveal multiple practices of infidelity before modern sociability patterns. The scenario making up the adultery emergence as a social concern has arisen from our investing on moral codes. As investigated in this study, the criminality involving ordinary citizens, mainly the crimes of betrayed husbands against their wives, disregarded before, is now reassessed conform to moral principle criterium. Thus I focus on the need, on the part of authorities, of highlighting the discourse on fidelity relations considering the patterns of masculinity and femininity conducted by the civism notion. So, the policy is estimated as one of the central topics in our study for its exposing the features of a sensibility lying between old and new moral customs constitutes in that period from the discourses on betrayal. To discuss such issues, a bibliography concerning the social-cultural changes in modern times was uses. This study relates to discussions on topics regardmg to gender relations such as marriage, family and honor and has helped me enlarge my concept on adultery, and to understand its constitution and singularities in Paraíba
