1. Determination of aflatoxin M1 in breast milk and related factors
SUMMARY OBJECTIVE: Breastfeeding in women with aflatoxin M1 exposure may be a risk factor for the newborn. Thus, it is crucial to determine aflatoxin M1 levels in breast milk and raise mothers’ awareness about nutrition in lactation and other periods. This study was carried out to determine aflatoxin M1 contamination in milk samples taken from mothers who

2. Incidence of aflatoxin M1 contamination in milk, white cheese, kashar and butter from Sakarya, Turkey
Abstract The purpose of this research is to determine the incidence and occurrence of aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) in 104 samples of milk, white cheese, kashar and butter in Sakarya, Turkey. Followed by immunoaffinity column (IAC) purification, high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)-fluorescence detection method was implemented to analyze the samples. Results

3. A comparative study of procedures for binding of aflatoxin M1 to Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG
ABSTRACT Several strains of lactic acid bacteria (LAB), frequently used in food fermentation and preservation, have been reported to bind different types of toxins in liquid media. This study was carried out to investigate the effect of different concentrations of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (ATCC 53103) to bind aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) in liquid media. AFM1 bindi

4. Incidence of aflatoxin M1 in fresh milk from small farms
Abstract The objective of this work was to determine aflatoxin M1 in fresh milk from fifty-two small farms in the city of Concórdia - SC, Brazil. Samples from the cooling tanks of each property were collected from November 2014 to January 2015. The QuEChERS method was used for the extraction of aflatoxin M1, and quantification was performed in UHPLC-FL. 40.

5. The Preventive Effects of Different Doses of Glucomannan on Experimental Aflatoxicosis in Japanese Quails
ABSTRACT This experimental study was performed to investigate whether there is a protective effect of different doses of Glucomannan using against aflatoxicosis in Japanese quail, and pathological changes and relative organ weights were compared. In the experiment, 60 one-day old male Japanese quails were used as divided into six different groups. Experiment

6. Biosensor Based on Cysteine Monolayer and Monoclonal Antibody for Specific Detection of Aflatoxin B1 in Rice
An electrochemical immunosensor for detection of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) in food samples was developed. The sensor is composed by cysteine monolayer immobilized on gold electrode surface with subsequent bind to monoclonal antibody (MAb-Cys-modified electrode). The AFB1 detection was evaluated by cyclic voltammetry and impedance spectroscopy in the frequency rang

7. Antimutagenic, antiproliferative, and antioxidant effect of extracts obtained from octopus (Paraoctopus limaculatus)
Abstract The search for chemopreventive/chemoprotective compounds in marine organism has been extensively reported; however, the presence of these compounds in octopus has been incipiently explored. In this research, the antimutagenic, antiproliferative, and antioxidant potential of three crude extracts (methanolic, acetonic, and hexanic) from Paroctopus lim

8. In vitro ability of beer fermentation residue and yeast-based products to bind aflatoxin B1
This study aimed to verify the in vitro ability of beer fermentation residue (BFR) containing Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells and five commercial products that differed in the viability and integrity of S. cerevisiae cells to remove aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) from a citrate-phosphate buffer solution (CPBS). BFR was collected at a microbrewery and prepared by drying

9. In-vitro cytotoxicity of aflatoxin B1 to broiler lymphocytes of broiler chickens
The aim of the present work was to study the in-vitro cytotoxic effects of different concentrations of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) on broiler lymphocytes. Lymphocyte-rich mononuclear cells were separated by Ficoll-Histopaque density and cultured in 96-wellplates containing the evaluated AFB1 concentrations in 5% CO2 atmosphere at 39°C. Thereafter, MTT, PicoGreen, a

10. Aflatoxin detoxification by manganese peroxidase purified from Pleurotus ostreatus
Manganese peroxidase (MnP) was produced from white rot edible mushroom Pleurotus ostreatus on the culture filtrate. The enzyme was purified to homogeneity using (NH4)2SO4 precipitation, DEAE-Sepharose and Sephadex G-100 column chromatography. The final enzyme activity achieved 81UmL-1, specific activity 78 U mg-1 with purification fold of 130 and recovery 1.
