25. Comparative study on the biodegradation of chlorpyrifos-methyl by Bacillus megaterium CM-Z19 and Pseudomonas syringae CM-Z6
Abstract: The strains CM-Z19 and CM-Z6, which are capable of highly degrading chlorpyrifos-methyl, were isolated from soil. They were identified as Bacillus megaterium CM-Z19 and Pseudomonas syringae CM-Z6, respectively, based on the 16S rRNA and an analysis of their morphological, physiological and biochemical characteristics. The strain CM-Z19 showed 92.6%

26. Canine monocytic ehrlichiosis in Buenos Aires, Argentina: comparison of serological and molecular assays

27. Molecular identification of a cyclodextrin glycosyltransferase-producing microorganism and phylogenetic assessment of enzymatic activities
Abstract: Cyclodextrin glycosyltransferases (CGTases) are important enzymes in the biotechnology field because they catalyze starch conversion into cyclodextrins and linear oligosaccharides, which are used in food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. The CGTases are classified according to their product specificity in α-, β-, α/β- and γ-CGTases. As

28. Improvement of the specific detection of Xanthomonas phaseoli pv. manihotis based on the pthB gene
ABSTRACT. Modifications were made in the PCR conditions aiming to overcome the problem of non-amplification of the Xanthomonas phaseoli pv. manihotis (Xpm) fragment, using the primer pair XV / XK described in the literature. The objective of this study was to propose changes in the primers already described (XV / XK_MOD) and validate the use of these new pri

29. Identifying probiotic characteristics of Lactobacillus crispatus isolated from the vagina
Lactobacilli prevent overproduction of pathogenic microorganisms and contribute protecting vaginal microbiota. Many probiotic microorganisms are categorized as Lactic Acid Bacteria. In this study, it was aimed identifying probiotic characteristics of Lactobacillus crispatus isolated from the vagina of a healthy woman. For this purpose, lactic acid, hydrogen

30. [PROVISIONAL] Genome sequence of Shewanella corallii strain A687 isolated from pufferfish (Sphoeroides spengleri)
Abstract We present here the genome sequence of Shewanella corallii strain A687 isolated from pufferfish Sphoeroides spengleri (Family Tetraodontidae). The assembly consists of 5,215,037 bp and contains 284 contigs, with a G+C content of 50.3%. The genus Shewanella comprises 67 recognized species. These bacteria are Gram-negative, rod-shaped, facultatively a

31. Isolation and characterization of hydrocarbon-degrading bacteria from gas station leaking-contaminated groundwater in the Southern Amazon, Brazil
A amplif

32. Detection of Hemotropic Mycoplasma sp. in white-eared opossums (Didelphis albiventris) from Southern Brazil

33. Comparison of rRNA-based reverse transcription PCR and rDNA-based PCR for the detection of streptococci in root canal infections
Abstract Objective The rDNA-based method is unable to distinguish between alive and dead cells. Alternatively, bacterial viability can be assessed by molecular methods based on ribosomal RNA (rRNA). Therefore, this study aimed to detect viable streptococci in root canal samples using rRNA-based reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), comp
