1. Through-Bond and Through-Space Interactions in [2,2]Cyclophanes
The interpretation of the distortions of the electron distribution in [2,2]cyclophanes (22-CPs) is controversial. Some studies indicate that there is an accumulation of electron density (ρ) outside the cavity of 22-CPs. The nature of through-space (ts) interaction is still under debate. The relative importance of ts and through-bond (tb) is an open question

2. NATURALEZA DE LAS INTERACCIONES Mδ+...δ+C-Oδ- EN CARBONILOS METÁLICOS. UN ESTUDIO BASADO EN LA TOPOLOGÍA DE LA DENSIDAD DE CARGA ELECTRÓNICA Y SU FUNCIÓN LAPLACIANA
The nature of the metal-ligand interactions, in the [Ti(CO)6]2-, [V(CO)6]-, [Cr(CO)6], [Mn(CO)6]+, [Fe(CO)6]2+ and [Co(CO)6]3+ complexes has been studied by means of topological analyses of the electron charge density, using the Quantum Theory of Atoms in Molecules (QTAIM) and Electron Function Localization (ELF). The calculations were made using B3LYP metho

3. Appearance-based odometry and mapping with feature descriptors for underwater robots
The use of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) for underwater tasks is a promising robotic field. These robots can carry visual inspection cameras. Besides serving the activities of inspection and mapping, the captured images can also be used to aid navigation and localization of the robots. Visual odometry is the process of determining the position and or

4. WBLS: a mobile device localization system on Wi-Fi networks.

5. Multiprojeet enviromental and simple profuct: the parteicipation of maufacturing in product development process. / Ambiente de multiprojeto e produto simples: a participação da manufatura no processo de desenvolvimento de produtos
This research studies the product and process development (PD) in three companies, in Brazil. The research takes place in a multi-project environment with simple products, this mean companies where the annual product and process innovation rate is very high. The companies studied belongs to candy food, cosmetics and shoes business segments. To better underst

6. A one-shot inpainting algorithm based on the topological asymptotic analysis
The aim of this article is to propose a new method for the inpainting problem. Inpainting is the problem of filling-in holes in images. We consider in this article the crack localization problem, which can be solved using the Dirichlet to Neumann approach and the topological gradient. In a similar way, we can define a Dirichlet and a Neumann inpainting probl

7. Mapeamento de ambientes estruturados com extração de informações geométricas através de dados sensoriais
The objective of this thesis is proposes a method for a mobile robot to build a hybrid map of an indoor, semi-structured environment. The topological part of this map deals with spatial relationships among rooms and corridors. It is a topology-based map, where the edges of the graph are rooms or corridors, and each link between two distinct edges rep

8. Topological characterization of the essential Escherichia coli cell division protein FtsN.
Genetic and biochemical approaches were used to analyze a topological model for FtsN, a 36-kDa protein with a putative transmembrane segment near the N terminus, and to ascertain the requirements of the putative cytoplasmic and membrane-spanning domains for the function of this protein. Analysis of FtsN-PhoA fusions revealed that the putative transmembrane s

9. The topoisomerase IV ParC subunit colocalizes with the Caulobacter replisome and is required for polar localization of replication origins
The process of bacterial DNA replication generates chromosomal topological constraints that are further confounded by simultaneous transcription. Topoisomerases play a key role in ensuring orderly replication and partition of DNA in the face of a continuously changing DNA tertiary structure. In addition to topological constraints, the cellular position of th

10. Supercoiling-dependent flexibility of adenosine-tract-containing DNA detected by a topological method
Intrinsically bent DNA sequences have been implicated in the activation of transcription by promoting juxtaposition of DNA sequences near the terminal loop of a superhelical domain. We have developed a novel topological assay for DNA looping based on λ integrative recombination to study the effects of intrinsically bent DNA sequences on the tertiary structu

11. Computer-aided analyses of transport protein sequences: gleaning evidence concerning function, structure, biogenesis, and evolution.
Three-dimensional structures have been elucidated for very few integral membrane proteins. Computer methods can be used as guides for estimation of solute transport protein structure, function, biogenesis, and evolution. In this paper the application of currently available computer programs to over a dozen distinct families of transport proteins is reviewed.

12. Carbohydrate binding activities of Bradyrhizobium japonicum: unipolar localization of the lectin BJ38 on the bacterial cell surface.
A polyclonal antiserum generated against the Bradyrhizobium japonicum lectin BJ38 was characterized to be specifically directed against the protein. Treatment of B. japonicum cells with this antiserum and subsequent visualization with transmission electron microscopy and both conventional and confocal fluorescence microscopy revealed BJ38 at only one pole of
