1. Tylosin injectable for the treatment of porcine proliferative enteropathy in experimentally inoculated pigs

2. Antimicrobial susceptibility profile of historical and recent Brazilian pig isolates of Pasteurella multocida

4. Transcolonic Perirectal NOTES Access (PNA): A feasibility study with survival in swine model
ABSTRACT Transrectal access still has some unsolved issues such as spatial orientation, infection, access and site closure. This study presents a simple technique to perform transcolonic access with survival in a swine model series. A new technique for NOTES perirectal access to perform retroperitoneoscopy, peritoneoscopy, liver and lymphnode biopsies was pe

5. Establishment of a Pathogenicity Index for One-day-old Broilers to Pasteurella multocida Strains Isolated from Clinical Cases in Poultry and Swine
ABSTRACT Although Pasteurella multocida is a member of the respiratory microbiota, under some circumstances, it is a primary agent of diseases , such as fowl cholera (FC), that cause significant economic losses. Experimental inoculations can be employed to evaluate the pathogenicity of strains, but the results are usually subjective and knowledge on the path

Porcine sapovirus (PoSaVs) infections are frequent in pig herds in America, Europe and Asia. The infection can be symptomatic, in which the typical clinical signs is diarrhea. However, asymptomatic infections are described with relative frequency. The genetic diversity of the PoSaV is high. Five genogroups and 16 genotypes are well established and five genog

Epidemiology and molecular characterization of the influenza virus in four penguin species of the antartic region.
Epidemics and pandemics of influenza usually refer to infections in human beings. The influenza virus is not, however, restricted to humans and can cause infirmity and death in other species including horses, swine, marine mammals, birds, and others. Ecological studies of viral infections have led to the hypothesis that the influenza viruses that attack mamm

8. Production biomolecule with inhibitory activity against Gram-negative bacteria isolated from faeces of broilers and swine
The aim of this study was to investigate the potential of lactic acid bacteria, bacilli and yeasts isolates to produce antimicrobial substances, especially against Gram-negative bacteria isolated from the animal faeces, searching for a new alternative to control the enteritis diseases in animal health. Evaluations were performed by microdilution in broth usi

The fluoroscopy-guided renal arteriography was evaluated in order to be used as an auxiliary method in investigations and as a way to experimentally induce kidney diseases in swine. The technique was effective to obtain sharp images as well as to determine the area of renal irrigation. Despite its easiness, trained professionals are required to perform it.

10. Fungal microbiota isolated from healthy pig skin / Microbiota fúngica isolada da pele de suínos sadios
Background: Researches have been developed to observe the normal microbiota of different animal species. This subject is of major importance for the control of potential infection risks. Fungi can be found in various substrates, foodstuffs (cereals, meat, milk, vegetables) and also in the skin, mucosae, respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts of animals. Wit

12. Standardization of enzyme immunoassay (ELISA) for serology, detection and quantification of porcine circovirus type 2 / Padronização de ensaios imunoenzimáticos (ELISA) para sorologia, detecção e quantificação do circovírus suíno 2
Porcine circovirus 2 (PCV-2) is the major causative agent of postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS) and is associated with different syndromes that affect the swine. The term PCVAD (Porcine circovirus associated diseases) was introduced in 2006 to gather many diseases. Since serological studies are essential for monitoring the virus, the aim of th
