Abstract Club GeoGebra (CG) project expansion in Venezuela high schools demands to design each year training opportunities for new teachers (CG promoter). An essential component of the design is the knowledge related with modelling processes that happen when the CG students develop simulators. To unveil this component, we conducted a study in which we identi

3. Use of artisanal simulators in the ultrasound training for invasive procedures in nephrology: venous access and renal biopsy

4. Learning robotic pyeloplasty without simulators: an assessment of the learning curve in the early robotic era
OBJECTIVE: To analyze our experience and learning curve for robotic pyeloplasty during this robotic procedure. METHODS: Ninety-nine patients underwent 100 consecutive procedures. Cases were divided into 4 groups of 25 consecutive procedures to analyze the learning curve. RESULTS: The median anastomosis times were 50.0, 36.8, 34.2 and 29.0 minutes (p=0.137

6. Assessing driving risk in patients with glaucoma

7. Development and application of an automatic tool for the selection of control variables based on the self-optimizing control methodology
Abstract Rules for control structure design for industrial processes have been extensively proposed in the literature. Some model-based methodologies have a sound mathematical basis, such as the self-optimizing control technology. The procedure can be applied with the aid of available commercial simulators, e.g., PRO/IITM and AspenPlus®, from which the conv

8. Circuit models of Lossy Coaxial Shielded cables to Analyze Radiated and Conducted Susceptibilities with unmatched line loads
Abstract This paper presents a circuit models to analyze the variation effects of incident plane wave on shielded coaxial cables, using Branin's method, which is called the method of characteristics. The model can be directly used for the time-domain and frequency-domain analyses and for all arbitrarily loaded. This makes it easy to insert in circuit simulat

9. Sialendoscopy Training: Presentation of a Realistic Model
Abstract Introduction Several surgical training simulators have been created for residents and young surgeons to gain experience with surgical procedures. Laboratory training is fundamental for acquiring familiarity with the techniques of surgery and skill in handing instruments. Objective The aim of this study is to present a novel simulator for trainin

Abstract Using Michel Foucault’s lectures on “Psychiatric power” as its starting point, this article analyzes the book Simulación de la locura (The simulation of madness), published in 1903 by the Argentine psychiatrist José Ingenieros. Foucault argues that the problem of simulation permeates the entire history of modern psychiatry. After initial ana

12. PRO-ELICERE: A Hazard Analysis Automation Process Applied to Space Systems
ABSTRACT In the last decades, critical systems have increasingly been developed using computers and software even in space area, where the project approach is usually very conservative. In the projects of rockets, satellites and its facilities, like ground support systems, simulators, among other critical operations for the space mission, it must be applied
