1. Early versus late sphenopalatine ganglion block with ropivacaine in postdural puncture headache: an observational study
Abstract Background Postdural puncture headache (PDPH) is a common complication of neuraxial techniques which delays patients’ discharge. Sphenopalatine ganglion block (SPGB) is a safe bedside technique with comparable efficacy to Epidural Blood Patch, the gold-standard treatment. There is no evidence on the ideal timing for SPGB performance. We aimed to

3. Pattern of Rectal Cancer Recurrence Following Potentially Curative Surgical Treatment
Abstract Survival in rectal cancer has been related mainly to clinical and pathological staging. Recurrence is the most challenging issue when surgical treatment of rectal cancer is concerned. This study aims to establish a recurrence pattern for rectal adenocarcinoma submitted to surgical treatment between June 2003 and July 2021. After applying the exclusi

5. Predictors of Recurrence of Peritoneal Carcinomatosis among Patients with Colorectal Cancer Following Cytoreductive Surgery alone versus Cytoreductive Surgery Plus HIPEC
ABSTRACT Background Peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC) is a lethal regional progression in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC). Treatment with complete cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) achieves better local control than systemic palliative chemotherapy. Objectives To assess the efficacy on the prognosis of CRS

Abstract Objective: To compare recurrence rates and symptomatic relief in symptomatic maxillary sinus Retention Cysts (RCs) between Middle Meatus Antrostomy (MMA) alone and Inferior Meatus Antrostomy (IMA) with basal mucosa electrocoagulation. Methods: Patients with symptomatic unilateral maxillary RCs were randomly allocated to MMA (n = 54) and IMA combin

7. Infantile hemangiomas: risk factors for complications, recurrence and unaesthetic sequelae
Abstract Background: Infantile hemangiomas (IH) occur in approximately 4% to 10% of the pediatric population. The identification of clinical subtypes and conditions that indicate increased risk for complications is essential for therapeutic success. Objectives: To identify risk factors for complications, recurrence and unaesthetic sequelae. Methods: Retro

ABSTRACT Background The relative rarity of synchronous para-aortic lymph node (PALN) metastasis (SPM) and metachronous PALN recurrence (MPR) in colorectal carcinoma (CRC) patients leads to a limited number of studies on patient management, and no treatment guidelines have been established to date. Objective To assess the prognostic, predictive roles, and l
