1. Bilateral versus unilateral erector spinae plane block for postoperative analgesia in laparoscopic cholecystectomy: a randomized controlled study
Abstract Introduction Laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) is the common surgical intervention for benign biliary diseases. Postoperative pain after LC remains as an important problem, with two components: somatic and visceral. Trocar entry incisions lead to somatic pain, while peritoneal distension with diaphragm irritation leads to visceral pain. Following i

2. Effects of erector spinae plane block and retrolaminar block on analgesia for multiple rib fractures: a randomized, double-blinded clinical trial
Abstract Objective: To investigate the effects of Erector Spinae Plane Block (ESPB) and Retrolaminar Block (RLB) on intraand postoperative analgesia in patients with Multiple Rib Fractures (MRFs). Methods: A total of 80 MRFs patients were randomly divided into the ESPB (Group E) and RLB (Group R) groups. After general anesthesia, ESPB and RLB were performed

3. The taxonomic value of leaf anatomy for species Byrsonima: a difficult genus of Malpighiaceae Juss.
ABSTRACT We studied the leaf anatomy of 15 species of Byrsonima and a single species of Diacidia as an outgroup to test the relevance of leaf anatomical characters to the complicated taxonomy of this genus. We present complete anatomical descriptions for petioles and leaf blades, together with an anatomical matrix, dendrogram and an identification key for th

4. Mobility impact and methods of diaphragm monitoring in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: a systematic review
The objectives of the study were to identify the factors that limit diaphragmatic mobility and evaluate the therapeutic results of the monitoring methods previously used in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, and LILACS databases were used. A gray literature search was conducted with Google scholar. PRISMA

5. Outcomes of Cases of Prenatally-Diagnosed Congenital Pulmonary Airway Malformation
Abstract Objective To evaluate the outcomes of cases of prenatally-diagnosed congenital pulmonary airway malformation (CPAM). Methods We retrospectively evaluated cases of prenatally-diagnosed CPAM between 2004 and 2018. Ultrasonographic features such as visualization of a fetal lung mass and heterogeneous pulmonary parenchyma were used for CPAM diagnosis.

7. Bubaline Diaphragm Matrix: Development and Clinical Assessment into Cattle Abdominal Hernia Repair
Abstract The purpose of the study was to develop a xenogenic bubaline diaphragm matrix (BDM) for abdominal hernia repair. A fresh diaphragm was decellularized using aqueous sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) solutions (0.5-4% w/v) over a period. Acellularity was confirmed histologically and characterized by Masson’s trichrome staining, scanning electron microsc

9. Diaphragm quantitative electromyography in difficult-to-treat asthmatic patients
