16. RE-POLITICIZING MENTAL ILLNESS: REFLECTIONS ON BOREDOM AND DEPRESSION IN AMERICAN POSTPOSTMODERN FICTION
Abstract Figurations of psychological problems, mental illness, boredom, depression, addiction, and medication abound in post-postmodern fiction. David Foster Wallace's Infinite Jest and The Pale King and Jonathan Franzen’s The Corrections are cases in point. Apparently, what these works share in common are the material and psycho-biological explanations t

19. POSTHUMANITY IN DELILLO’S ZERO K: THE RISING CONNECTIONS BETWEEN IDENTITY AND TECHNOLOGY
Abstract In Zero K, DeLillo revisits the ever-increasing connection between identity and technology. However, he does so in a unique way, adding (im)mortality issues to an already complex mix. As a result, DeLillo not only explores the intricacies of our present context, but also provides a bleak picture of what could be our posthuman future. This paper exam

21. AN INTENSIONAL VIEW OF JUDGMENT IN KANT’S KRV
Abstract This paper presents an elucidation of Kant’s notion of judgment, which clearly is a central challenge to the understanding of the Critic of Pure Reason, as well as of the Transcendental Idealism. In contrast to contemporary interpretation, but taking it as starting point, the following theses will be endorsed here: i) the synthesis of judgment exp

24. Theoretical Calculations on the Mechanism of Hydrogenation of Diphenylacetylene over Pdn (n = 1-4) Clusters
Diphenylacetylene (DPA) is a precursor of stilbene and benzil, and reduction of DPA or its derivatives with metallic reagents is both an old and contemporary topic of research. By means of density function theory (DFT) calculations, a detailed investigation of the mechanism of the hydrogenation of DPA over Pd clusters was carried out at the molecular level.
