1. Temperature Dependent Emission Properties of ReI Tricarbonyl Complexes with Dipyrido-Quinoxaline and Phenazine Ligands
In this work, the emission properties of fac-[Re(CO)3(NN)(py)]+, NN = 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), dipyrido[3,2-f:2’,3’-h]quinoxaline (dpq) and dipyrido[3,2-a:2’3’-c]phenazine (dppz); py = pyridine were investigated in different temperatures, ranging from 80 to 300 K, and in different solvent mixtures and in polymethyl methacrylate. The changes observ

2. Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Effect on Lipase-Catalyzed Geranyl Acetate Synthesis
This work provides a general insight on lipase-catalyzed synthesis of geranyl acetate through esterification of geraniol with acetic acid. Although this reaction is relatively well known, the replacement of organic solvents by supercritical fluids is fairly recent and the role of CO2 is still not completely understood. Therefore, reactions were performed wit

3. CLOROFILA EXTRAÍDA DE RESÍDUO INDUSTRIAL DA ERVA-MATE (Ilex paraguaiensis) UMA POSSIBILIDADE DE ECONOMIA CIRCULAR
Chlorophyll is the most abundant green pigment on the planet, it is unstable and decomposes naturally. Mate-herb is a traditional native plant in the southern region of South America, and its tea is part of the local culture and extractive agriculture. The mate-herb industry generates as a by-product a resinous material rich in chlorophyll whose use is propo

4. Evaluation of the Structural Integrity of Layered Double Hydroxides and Mesoporous Silica During the Preparation of Heterostructures
Heterostructures constructed with mesoporous silica and layered double hydroxides are interesting for catalytic and drug delivery applications. Different arrangements between these phases are possible. In this study, we prepared heterostructures by embedding layered double hydroxides phases [M4Al2(OH)12](CO3) (M = Mg2+ or Zn2+) within the MCM41 mesoporous si

5. HPLC METHOD IMPROVEMENT FOR 4-NONYLPHENOL DETERMINATION IN ANAEROBIC REACTORS: DECREASING SOLVENT CONSUMPTION AND WASTE GENERATION
The aim of this study was to develop a chromatographic method for 4-NP determination in anaerobic batch reactors using low amount of organic solvents and also evaluate 4-NP degradation in the presence of different co-substrates. Chromatographic parameters was improved for stationary phase (C-8 column), mobile phase (acetonitrile/water solution 90:10, v:v), c

6. Screening of the Au:Pt Atomic Ratio Supported in SrCO3: Effects on the Performance of the Solvent-Free Oxidation of Benzyl Alcohol
We have prepared, by a sol-immobilization method, bimetallic catalysts with different Au:Pt atomic ratios supported on commercial SrCO3. The catalytic performance for the oxidation reaction of benzyl alcohol of such materials was compared to the monometallic counterparts, aiming at the obtaining of the best composition of the material. It was found that the

7. VALORIZATION OF Solanum viarum DUNAL BY EXTRACTING BIOACTIVE COMPOUNDS FROM ROOTS AND FRUITS USING ULTRASOUND AND SUPERCRITICAL CO2
Abstract Solanum viarum Dunal belongs to the Solanaceae family and it is considered to be a grazing weed toxic to cattle. In this study, ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) and supercritical CO2 extraction (SFE-CO2) were applied to evaluate the extraction yield and chemical composition of fruits and roots matrices of Solanum viarum Dunal. A hydroalcoholic s

8. Tadalafil-loaded PLGA microspheres for pulmonary administration: preparation and evaluation
Tadalafil, a long-acting PED-5 inhibitor, is commonly used for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). However, its efficacy and clinical application are severely limited by the poor water solubility, low bioavailability and a series adverse effects (e.g. headaches, indigestion). In this study, tadalafil was prepared and loaded into biodegrad

9. DENSITY CALCULATIONS OF AQUEOUS AMINE SOLUTIONS USING AN EXCESS GIBBS BASED MODEL
Abstract Accurate representation of the physical properties of a solvent is essential for design and simulation of processes. Density and viscosity, for instance, have an important role in modelling and designing absorption and desorption towers. In the present work, a model to accurately calculate the density of aqueous amine solutions used in CO2 capture w

10. STABILITY AND TOXICITY PROFILE OF SOLUTION ENHANCED DISPERSION BY SUPERCRITICAL FLUIDS (SEDS) FORMULATED Andrographis paniculata EXTRACT
Abstract The main objective was to evaluate the stability and toxicity of a Solution Enhanced Dispersion by Supercritical Fluids (SEDS) formulated A. paniculata extract that was intended for food applications. The best formulated SEDS A. paniculata extract with improved dissolution of andrographolide (data not shown) was obtained using 25 mg/mL A. paniculata

11. CONTROLLED RELEASE OF THEOPHYLLINE-CHITOSAN COMPOSITE PARTICLES PREPARED USING SUPERCRITICAL ASSISTED ATOMIZATION
Abstract This study investigated the formation of composite particles of chitosan (CS) and theophylline (TPH) via supercritical assisted atomization (SAA) using aqueous ethanol (50%, v/v) as the solvent and supercritical CO2 as the spraying medium. According to XRD, DSC, and FTIR analyses, the crystal form of the SAA-treated TPH from the as-received TPH was

12. Chemosensor Development of Cu2+ Recognition Using 1,5-Diphenylthiocarbazone: Optimization, COSMO-RS and DFT Studies
The sensitive and selective chemosensor for copper(II) ions (Cu2+) was successfully optimized using the 1,5-diphenylthiocarbazone (DPT) compound. The result showed that dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) in a 9:1 (DMSO:water) ratio at a pH of 3 was the optimum medium for DPT to act as chemosensor of Cu2+ recognition. The DPT chemosensor did not encounter any interfer
