RESUMO

The unsustainability of the economic development model gained importance with the publication of the Club of Rome report published in 1972, where adversities produced by a process of development based on the exploitation of natural and human resources are criticized. This context, Agroecology comes out as a proposal that involves scientific knowledge based on agricultural practices which ensure the preservation of the environment, reasonable social and economical relations. Respect to the peculiarities of each agroecosystem is ensured as well. The difficulty of measuring sustainable development models is the search for wide and complex data therefore they have to be measured considering quantitative and qualitative aspects. The objective of this study is to present a proposal for the evaluation of the main influences generated by agroecological practices with agorecological guidance in agroecosystems. The systemic method was used as methodological orientation. Based on literature and interviews with experts, the main dimensions, elements and attributes that show in a practical way the main influences of agroecological practices in agroecosystems were selected. The final systematization of the main dimensions, elements and attributes pointed to sociocultural dimension as the most important one, since the agroecological process must be mediated and evaluated by it. This understanding is based on the idea that a rural development with agorecological guidance would only be possible with changes in social attitudes. However, the sociocultural and the other dimensions must be seen in an integrated way, since social attitudes have changed and economic contributions ensure a just income to farmers and an institutional support of public institutions and policies that provide the viability of agroecological practices.
