THE MOVEMENT OF THE SENSES: FROM UTOPIA TO CONVERSION / O MOVIMENTO DOS SENTIDOS: DE UTOPIA À CONVERSÃO

RESUMO

The present work tries to understand how the movement of the senses is constituted in the discourse of the founder, of the colonizer and in that of the missionary on the found land and inhabitants. For such we have elected, as corpus of analysis, sequences of discourse that constitute of voyage reports that succeeded in time and space: Cristóvão Colombo, Diário da Primeira Viagem (Diary of the First Voyage), written and published in 1493; Pero Vaz de Caminha, Carta (Letter), written in 1500 and published in 1817; Americus Vespucci, As Quatro Navegações (The Four Voyages); written between 15011503, published in 1507 and Mundus Novos (New Worlds), written in 1502, published between 15031504; Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca, Comentários (Commentaries), written in 1541, published in 1555; Antônio Sepp, Viagens às Missões Jesuíticas e Trabalhos Apostológicos (Voyages to the Jesuitical Missions and Apostolic Works), that collects texts respectively, from 1691 to 1692, published in 1693 to 1701, published in 1710. It is Analysis of Discourse of French School (AD) that gives theoretic and methodological support to this work, added of knowledge of History, Anthropology and Philosophy. The work is divided in the following parts: Prologue In Search of Happiness featuring Christian and Guarani utopias. Introduction Words that Position, where the main theme of this work, analysis procedures, methodology, questions and thesis are presented. Part I The Mythic Spaces, on the spaces on maps and in voyage raports from XII, XIV and XV centuries. Part II The Meeting of the Mythic Spaces on voyages reports from XVI century. Part III The Invention of the Happy City on the constitution of the Guarani Reduction, containing the Guaranis and the Jesuits. Part IV The Discourse of Variation and the Discourse of Permanence, constituted of the analysis itself; containing the divisions; The Land Founding where we study sequences of discourse from Cristóvão Colombo, Pero Vaz de Caminha and Americus Vespucci; The Land Penetration, where we study sequences of discourse found in Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca and The Land Permanence, where we study sequences of discourse from Antônio Sepp. Considerations Words that Finishing, we present what is pertinence in the constitution of these analyzed discourses and put the questions of the research and the analyses. Post Scriptum The Founder Discourse of the Brazilian constitutes of the considerations on the work, resuming theoretical presuppositions of the AD. In The Movement of the Senses from Utopia to Conversion we studied the movement the sense from the founding to the missionary work or the utopia to conversion. Such movement of senses constituted the discourse founder of the Brazilian.
