RESUMO

There is a present claim for the development of systems able to promote adequate means of acquisition, handling and dissemination of knowledge. The dissertation highlights this need and proposes an ontology named ONTO ISGE, which represents the knowledge domain concerning the Strategic management of innovation in the Brazilian Software Industry. The work adopts a research strategy based on Ontological Engineering supported by classical proceduresof scientific methodologies as bibliographical revisions and questionnaires. The engaged analysis restrains itself to the Brazilian Software Industry, taking into consideration the information supplied by the MIT/SOFTEX Project - "The industry of Software in Brazil: fortifying the economy of the knowledge". The utility of the research is associated with the development of knowledge based systems, the definition of strategies and business tactics, as well as with the definition of public and/or private policies.
