O papel do fórum-online em um curso de pós-graduação Lato sensu a distância: um estudo de caso

RESUMO

The aim of this study is to analyze the role of the on-line forum in the lato sensu post-graduation course "Orientação Pedagógica em Educação a Distancia" (Pedagogical Orientation in Distance Learning) of the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul in its third edition. The on-line forum is a resource, offered in all subjects of this course, which makes possible the asynchronous interaction between teachers and students in an on-line environment. The paper reports a case study in which the use of this resource in the view and in the practice of teachers and students was investigated by means of interviews and observation of the course environment, between February 2004 and June 2005. The criteria of the analysis of the subjects actions were based on Brousseau s ideas, especially the notions of didactical situation and didactical contract, focusing the importance of the social interactions in the construction of knowledge, according to Vigotsky, and also the aspects related to the concepts of interaction and interactivity in Distance Learning (Educação à Distancia - EAD). The data analysis led to the confirmation that the interactions between teachers and students in the on-line forum were insufficient and the teachers tend to bring their conceptions from the in-presence formation and practice to the Distance Learning. The results suggest that the teachers are not sufficiently prepared to make use of the on-line forum to the full. Besides, these professionals are dissatisfied with the lack of investment in the course. It is also evident the need for a greater commitment, in terms of public management, with the teachers permanent education.
