RESUMO

Liquid-liquid extraction by aqueous two-phase systems of the type polymer-salt has been increasing importance in the separation of biomolecules. The thermodynamic behavior of these systems is extremely difficu1t to model, due to the size differences between the smaller molecules and the polymer. In this work, was determined experimental data of the liquid-liquid equilibrium in systems with water / polyethylene-glycol 4000 / potassium phosphate) at the temperatures of 100 C, 15°C, 200 C and 30° C, as well as, the correlation of these data for the models of coefficient of molecular activity NRTL and contribution of group UNIF AC-FV, with estimation of new parameters of molecu1ar interaction for the systems water / polyethylene-glycol 4000/ potassium phosphate, water / polyethylene-glycol 4000/ sodium sulfate, water / polyethyleneglycol 8000/ sodium sulfate, water / polyethylene-glycol 1000/ sulfato de magnésio, water / polyethylene-glycol 3350/ sulfato de magnésio and water / polyethylene-glycol 2000/ sodium carbonates, and estimation of new parameters of energy interaction of groups for the systems water / polyethylene-glycol 4000/ potassium phosphate and water / polyethylene-g1ycol 4000/ sódium sulfate. The results obtained have shown that the NRTL model was able to represent well the equilibrium dates of the studied systems
