RESUMO

Environmental impact evaluation is a work that consists on some studies to identify, to interpret, as well as to prevent the environmental consequences or effects in a certain place. These studies will determine the actions necessary to minimize the damages that were caused to the environment. The general purpose of this work was to do the Environmental Impacts Evaluation (through an accord FUNDAE/ELETROBRAS), considering that the undertaking did not admit a complete EIA-RIMA. When investigating the damages that were caused by the pipe burst of the compelled conduit in the PCH of Quebra-Dentes, the AIA was done by the use of the Leopold Rocha Matrix. The methodology consisted on describing a bidimentional list of the probable impacts. The environment factors were horizontally enumerated, while the actions proposed in the project, resulting in interaction, were vertically enumerated. In the present analysis, it was determined 224 interactions in 28 crossings that were suitable with the undertaking in the studied area. The found values mean that the undertaking, just as it was, caused low to medium environmental damages (9% and 18% values taken from the mathematician model). Considering the total medium values, which were lower than 5,0 (for magnitude and relevance, 2 and 3 respectively inflexion value for the decisions that were taken), the magnitude deteriorations (9%), lower than 10%, and the importance (18%), above 10%, it can be said that some softened and compensatory measures are necessary to compensate the environmental damages caused by the pipes burst (negative environmental impacts).
