RESUMO

This study had the objective of analyzing the moral harassment phenomenon in the work environment and the main practices adopted by human resources management areas for identifying and managing work circumstances factors, which can propitiate the appearance of this phenomenon in organizations. An instrument of research was developed, validated and applied, with 20 questions related to different aspects of moral harassment in the work environment and to the role that the human resources management area plays inside of organizations. The research was conducted to a section of supervisors of a great financial institution in Brazil, who are filled in the direction of the enterprise in Brasilia (DF). The analysis identified that employees feel safer in denouncing cases of moral harassment in enterprises with a clear policy about the subject and with appropriated communication channels. It has also been identified the necessity of development, by the human resources management area, of preventive actions related to workplace harassment and the improvement of a general policy for work risk prevention, approaching in a direct way the workplace harassment and defining which behaviors will not be accepted by the organization. At the end of this study, it will be made recommendations for complementary researches.
