RESUMO

During the cementing indirect restorations procedure using resin luting systems, polymerization is essential for an effective clinical outcome of success. The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the Knoop hardness (KHN), microshear bond strength (MSBS) and nanoleakage pattern of resin cements and flowable resin to dental enamel. Ninety-two enamel bovine incisors were used in this study, which were planered and cemented blocks of IPS Empress Esthetic, according to the experimental groups: Variolink / Excite DSC (Ivoclar-Vivadent), Panavia F / Clearfil SE Bond (Kuraray) RelyX ARC / Scotchbond Multi-Purpose Plus (3M/ESPE), Filtek Flow / Single Bond (3M/ESPE). For microshear test (n = 10), two ceramic cylinders 1 mm in diameter and 3 mm in height were adhered to the enamel surface, and one of the cylinders tested, 24 hours after cementation, and the other subjected to cycling thermal (2000 cycles) and subsequent evaluation of bond strength in a universal testing machine. For the microhardness analysis (n = 10) simulated the cementation of a ceramic disc color A3 (5 mm in diameter and 1.2 mm thick). The hardness was measured directly on the cement, with 16 indentations for each sample. For assessing the pattern of nanoleakage (n = 3) samples were infiltrated with silver nitrate and placed in developing solution for SEM analysis. The obtained data of microshear were submitted to two-factor ANOVA and Tukey test (? = 0.05). For RelyX ARC (29,7MPa), the MSBS showed higher bond strength when compared to other luting systems, Panavia F (17,7MPa) and Variolink (15,3MPa) showed similar MSBS behavior between each other, therefore higher than the flowable composite (8,7MPa), which had the lowest values. The obtained data of microhardness were submitted to statistical analysis in outline entirely casual and Tukey test (a=0,05). In relation to the KHN, Panavia F (49,7 KHN) showed higher results, however it was statistically similar to RelyX ARC (39,6 KHN) and Variolink (43,8 KHN), the composite resin to flow, which was lower. The flowable composite Filtek (35,0 KHN), showed no silver nitrate uptake, but the largest percentage of nanoleakage was presented by Variolink. It was concluded that flow resin when used as fixing agent for dental ceramic showed the lowest values of bond strength and Knoop hardness, but a hybrid layer without porosity that was formed by Single Bond.
