RESUMO

The objective of this work was to study the effects of molybdenum doses, applied on bean crop under the conventional and no-tillage systems, on the production components and nutrient rates in leaves and grains. Two experiments were carried out in the field: one during winter- spring (winter season), with sowing in July 2006, and the other one during summer-fall (dry season), with sowing in March 2007. The study was carried out in the Experimental Station at the Federal University of Viçosa, Coimbra County, Minas Gerais State, Brazil, 205030 South Latitude and 424830 West Longitude, 715m High. The experiments were carried out in randomized block design with four repetitions and subdivided plots. The plots were represented by the soil management system (conventional or no-tillage), and the subplots were represented by the molybdenum doses (0, 40, 80, 160 and 320 g ha-1). The crop fertilization included 350 kg ha-1 of the 8-28-16 (NPK) formulation. Nitrogen fertilization was not simultaneously performed to the Mo fertilization. Ouro Vermelho variety crops were used. Mo was foliarly applied 25 days after the seedlings had sprouted, using sodium mobybdate as a source of Mo. The number of grain per pods, the number of pods per square meter, the weight of 100 grains, grain productivity, number of plants per plot, and nutrient rates in the leaves and grains were evaluated. The number of pods per square meter and grain productivity were increased by Mo doses. Grain productivity under the no-tillage system was higher than the conventional one. Productivity and production components were higher in the winter season when compared to the dry season. Mo rates in the bean leaves increased in response to its application. Mo leaf fertilization increased N (total and organic) rates in bean crops under both plantation systems.
