A paisagem como elemento de sustentabilidade do Vale do RibeirÃo da Prata

RESUMO

The Vale do RibeirÃo da Prata is located in the edges of the Bulk of the MaciÃo de PoÃos de Caldas, in the cities of Ãguas da Prata and SÃo JoÃo da Boa Vista. The valley is part of the Serra da Mantiqueira, region of mounts, with hillsides of accented declivity and is formed by a great amount of springs that if originate in the hillsides and the tops of these mounts forming an important hydric complex due to quantity and quality of its waters. It is this hydric potential that characterizes the city of Ãguas da Prata as hidromineral ranch. The characteristics of this place are attributed of great landscape and environmental value. Due to physiographic obstructions this region has not been severely exploited as other nearby. This work intends to understand how this landscape has been transformed until the current days, and which the environmental impacts. It is intended to analyze the performance of the public policies that today act in the basin: Local management, regional plans, management of hydric resources plans Trusts and consortia related to local services and tourism Municipals and Agencies of Development. The methodological approach of Landscape ecology is applied, as a new paradigm for the ecological and sustainable occupation of the territory. Through the analysis of this territory it is intended to visualize development strategies for better management of landscapes, in an integrated vision of the urban and agricultural areas.
