RESUMO

The emergency of the Information Society, also identified as Society or Learning among other denominations, has been characteized by the solid presence of the technologies of information and communication (TIC), configuring new environments has been marked by the use of the information, mediated by TIC, as a way of acquuiring knowledge and increase richness for those that know how to deal with and to obtain results in that universe. Therefore the effective domain of the competences related to the informational universe has been acting differential of survival, competitiveness and social and professional inclusion. Been aware of this, the American librarian encouraged a movement named Information Literacy, whose usual translation has been: competence in information, that seeks to promote the acquisition of competences to act in the informational environment. American Library Association (ALA) defined, in 1989, what means to be an information literate person. Then, the concept passed to be disseminated and studied in the whole world as a way of social inclusion, competitiveness and empowerment for individuals and organizations. On the other hand, the Executive Secretary professional acts in managing the informational flow in the several hierarchical levels of the public and private organizations and, when advising leaderships, they accomplish, among other activities, the filter of the information, the filing in physical and digital media, the search of information in the internet; they generate and disseminate information, playing the role of interface among internal and external organizational environment, besides being the mediator that helps in the effective managing work accomplished by their executive-bosses. Therefore was tried to verifv if the graduation in Executive Secretary of UFBA has been making possible to their students the apprehension of the foundations and practices to the Information Literacy acquisition and, consequently, to the professional inclusion that executive secretary, in harmony with the current needs of the organizations and of the society. That investigation considered the context described above, the profile delineated to the executive secretary in the XXI century, the national curricula guidelines to the secretarial area, and specifically, the reflection on the actual pedagogic proposal of the course, inspired in the concepts of curricula and pedagogical project, in order to promote the "rethinking" of the graduation in syntony with the described scenery. For doing that, it was taken into account that the present transformations in that Information Society signal de emergency of new education and organizational paradigms in the global, holistic and systemic perspective, in what one considers the individual-citizen s formation for the living and working, in the continuous learning and for the lifetime.
