RESUMO

Considering that the cultural changes process can show the socials transformations and that the religious popular celebrations represent forms of popular culture, is searched with this analyse how the institutional context influences the process of reinstitutionalization of the Holy Spirit Celebration in FlorianÃpolis downtown. As source, was used as theoretical landmark, the institutional theory, approaching specifically topics regarding to the institutional context, to the process of institutionalization and institutional changes (deinstitutionalization and reinstitutionalization). The methodological process is based on a case study, of qualitative approach, by means of primary and secondary data collection. The research concludes that norms and values changes in the institutional context influenced the process of deinstitutionalization of the 1980 years celebrations, due to social entropy structured around a strong conservatism by members of the main organization that coordinated the celebration. However, was noticed that from 1996 the institutional contextâs norms and values characterized for the management professionalization of the social organizations, preservation of tradition and religious rituals and valorization of companyâs social responsibility development, influenced the organizational practices adopted, conducting to development of a process of celebrationâs reinstitutionalization
