RESUMO

This dissertation discusses the Social Role of the Company as one of the business activities that needs to be preserved through the concession of Legal Recovery. With this objective, it analyzes the historical evolution of the Institution of Bankruptcy, in order to identify the existence of business activity which is committed to the Social Role. It also demonstrates the principles basis and innovations considered most relevant in the Law of Company Bankruptcy and Recovery, and culminates in the study of the Social Role of the Company and its link with legal Recovery. Thus, the object of this study is the Social Role of the Company, in light of the Legal Recovery originating from the Law of Company Bankruptcy and Recovery. The study and report for this work were carried out using the inductive method. The result is the evolution of bankruptcy in an attempt to preserve the Company, with the commitment of all those involved favoring, after the concession of Legal Recovery, the human community that surrounds or depends on it. It concludes that the Social Role of the Company, which can also serve as an argument in the search for concession of Legal Recovery, becomes one of the commitments of Companies undergoing recovery, for the valorization of the human being.
