RESUMO

This project is inserted in the area of Career Management and it deals with questions referred to the criteria used for the construction of freshmens career. At the moment of their decision, youngsters are based on their wishes and aspirations or are pressured by social and cultural forces observing values such as status, remuneration and reputation. The question runs through the concept that the individual is a cultural product and produces its own culture. The highlights of this analysis is based on the search to understand the criteria taken to construct the freshmens professional way and the participation of the institutions in this process. The bibliographical research, was used to constructing the theoretical platform, allows to deepen the knowledge on the theme, and might serve as a study case that involves beginning pupils majoring in Business Administration Graduation and a professional person of a private institution of superior education in São Paulo.(AU)
